Do ChatGPT and Google’s AI mention your business?
Most businesses have no idea. AI assistants now answer the question outright, name two or three companies, and everyone else may as well not exist. We check what they say about you, and track whether it improves.
The traffic you never see
When someone asks ChatGPT for a plumber in Bondi, or an SEO agency in Sydney, they don’t get ten blue links. They get an answer, with two or three businesses named inside it. That list is the entire shortlist, and most people never look further.
None of this shows up in your analytics. There is no click to count, no keyword to look up, no impression logged anywhere. The first sign most businesses get is enquiries quietly thinning out while their search positions still look perfectly healthy.
Monitoring closes that gap. It is also the only honest way to tell whether AEO and GEO work is landing, because the assistants themselves are the only place the result shows up.
Being invisible in AI answers doesn’t announce itself. It looks exactly like a slow month.
Four assistants, checked the same way
Each one draws on a different mix of sources, so being named by one is no guarantee of the others.
ChatGPT
The most used by a wide margin, and usually the first place a customer checks. We put your customers’ questions to it and record whether you are named, how you are described, and which businesses are named instead of you.
Google AI Overviews
The AI answer sitting directly above your organic listing. We check whether your pages are used as a source, and whether the answer is complete enough that nobody needs to click through at all.
Gemini
Google’s standalone assistant, which weighs signals differently to the Overviews in search results. Being present in one does not mean being present in the other.
Perplexity
Built around showing its sources, which makes it the clearest window into whether your pages are being treated as a reference or passed over entirely.
Six things the monitoring tells you
The questions that matter
Built from how your customers really search, the phrasing people use with an assistant, which is longer and more conversational than what they type into Google.
Whether you are named at all
Present or absent, assistant by assistant, question by question. The most useful number on the page is usually the one that starts at zero.
What is being said about you
Being mentioned inaccurately is its own problem, and a far easier one to fix early than late. Outdated hours, wrong service areas and old claims all surface here.
Who gets named instead
Your competitors in AI answers are often not the ones you expect, and rarely the ones you compete with on price.
Which page the answer came from
When a source is shown, we record it. That tells us exactly which pages are carrying weight and which are being ignored.
Whether it is moving
One snapshot tells you where you stand today. A series tells you whether the work is doing anything, which is the only question that matters.
What people ask about AI search monitoring
No, and nobody can. The assistants decide what to cite and they change their minds. What we can do is remove the reasons you get passed over: unclear structure, thin or inconsistent information, and nothing corroborating your claims elsewhere on the web.
Related, but not the same. AEO and GEO are the work that makes you citable. Monitoring is the measurement that tells you whether it worked. Traditional SEO still matters, because most assistants build answers from pages that already rank.
Ranking and being cited are different things. A page can sit at the top of the results and still be absent from the AI answer printed above it. That answer is what many people read instead of scrolling.
More slowly than search results. Models refresh on their own schedule and some answers persist for months. Expect movement over months rather than days, and treat anyone promising faster with suspicion.
They set the priorities. If an assistant describes your services wrongly, that is an information problem. If it never names you at all, that is usually a structure and authority problem. Different causes, different fixes.
Monitoring is part of ongoing work with us rather than a separate line item. If you are not working with us yet, the free visibility check includes a first look at whether assistants mention your business at all.
Nothing extra. AI search visibility is part of the ongoing Organic Growth + AI Search package, from A$1,299 a month, and the one off audit, from A$495, includes an AI search visibility check. The reason is practical: the technical health, content and authority that get you ranked in Google are the same things ChatGPT, Gemini and Google’s AI Overview look for before they name anyone, so splitting them into two bills would mean charging you twice for the same work. If you only want to know where you stand in AI answers today, the free visibility check covers that.
