Get more local enquiries from Google Search and Maps
If the phone isn’t ringing as often as it should, the problem is rarely the phone. It is usually that the people searching nearby right now are finding someone else first. We work out where you are being missed, and fix it.
Businesses that win or lose on being found nearby
This is for businesses where the customer is close by and ready to act. Someone whose hot water has failed, who needs a dentist this week, who is choosing where to eat tonight. They search, they read a few results, and they contact one or two businesses. Usually within the hour.
In that situation, being technically visible is not the same as being chosen. You can appear in results and still lose the enquiry to a business with more reviews, a clearer profile, or a page that answers the question the searcher had. And increasingly, the shortlist is being written by an AI assistant before the customer sees any results at all.
The work here is about that whole path, from the moment someone searches to the moment they call. Not just the ranking in the middle of it.
What this usually looks like from the inside
If two or three of these sound familiar, there is almost always something specific and fixable behind it.
You show up for your business name, but not for what you do
People who already know you can find you. People who don’t know you yet never see you, because you are absent for the searches that describe the service itself.
Competitors appear in the map pack and you don’t
The three businesses shown on the map take the large majority of local clicks. Being just below that block is closer to being invisible than most owners expect.
You get traffic but very few calls
Visits without enquiries usually points at the page rather than the search: unclear service information, no obvious next step, or a phone number that isn’t tappable on a phone.
You only appear in your own suburb
Businesses that serve ten suburbs but only show up in one are usually missing the pages and profile signals that tell search engines where else they work.
Your reviews have gone quiet
Review volume and recency influence both what customers choose and what Google is willing to show. A profile that hasn’t had a review in a year is a signal in itself.
You have no idea which enquiries came from where
Without call and form tracking, every decision about marketing spend is a guess. This is usually the first thing we fix, because everything after it depends on it.
Where local enquiries are won
Not every business needs all of this. The free check tells us which parts matter for you.
Commercial local searches
The phrases people use when they are ready to buy rather than browse: service plus suburb, “near me”, urgency wording, and the longer conversational questions people put to an assistant.
Google Business Profile
Categories, services, service areas, hours, photos and posts. This profile decides a great deal about whether you appear on Maps at all, and it is the single most under maintained asset most local businesses own.
Google Maps visibility
Where you appear on the map depends heavily on proximity, prominence and relevance. Two of those three can be influenced, and that is where the work goes.
Service and location pages
A real page for each service you offer and each area you serve, written for people, not stamped out from a template with the suburb name swapped.
Reviews and trust
A simple way to ask, at the moment customers are most willing to say yes, plus responses that show the business is present and paying attention.
Turning visits into enquiries
Clear service information, visible pricing signals where appropriate, tappable phone numbers, short forms, and a page that loads before someone gives up on it.
Call and form tracking
So you can see which enquiries came from search, which came from Maps, and what each is worth. Without this, nothing else can be judged.
AI search visibility
Where it is relevant to your market, making sure your business is findable and citable when someone asks an assistant for a recommendation instead of searching.
Four steps, in this order
Free visibility check
A quick, high level review of where you stand across Google, Maps and AI search, with three to five priority opportunities. No cost, no obligation.
The foundation work
Profile, tracking, service and location pages, and the technical issues that hold everything else back. Most of the early movement comes from here.
Build the signals
Reviews, content that answers real local questions, and the consistency across the web that makes both Google and AI assistants confident enough to recommend you.
Measure and adjust
Reporting on enquiries and calls rather than impressions, so the next month’s priorities are set by what happened.
What to expect
What we can influence, and what nobody can promise
Local search is competitive and partly outside anyone’s control. Proximity to the searcher, how long competitors have been established, and how Google chooses to lay out results all move the ground under everyone at once.
So we don’t promise positions, a number of calls, or a revenue figure. Anyone who does is guessing with your money. What we will do is remove the specific reasons your business is being passed over, make the enquiries you do get measurable, and show you month by month what moved and what didn’t.
If the free check shows that your market is already well served by what you have, you will hear that instead of a proposal.

AI Search OptimisationMost local businesses start with the Local Visibility Setup to get the foundation right, then move to ongoing work if they want to keep building. Pricing is set out further down this page.
What businesses ask before starting
Profile and tracking fixes can show within weeks. Service and location pages usually take one to three months to settle, and review and authority work compounds over three to six. Anyone promising faster than that in a competitive suburb is guessing.
No, a tight service area is an advantage. It means fewer searches to compete for and a much clearer picture of who you are trying to reach.
Usually not. Most local sites need specific fixes rather than replacement, and a rebuild before the diagnosis often loses visibility you already had. The free check will tell us which situation you are in.
That is common and fixable. The work is putting a simple, repeatable way to ask in front of customers at the right moment, rather than chasing reviews in bursts.
Increasingly, yes. People ask assistants for recommendations the same way they once asked a neighbour, and the answer names two or three businesses. Whether that is urgent for you depends on your market, and the check will tell us.
Then this may be the wrong starting point. A decline needs diagnosing before anything is built on top of it. See Organic Revenue Recovery.
