Ecommerce SEO in Sydney, across Google and AI search
Online stores live or die on how they are found. That used to mean ranking a product page; now it also means being the store an AI assistant names when someone asks what to buy and where. Both depend on the same foundations, a store that is fast, crawlable and clearly structured, and both are what we work on. Doing the first since 2008.

Why it matters here
Why ecommerce SEO is its own discipline
A brochure site has twenty pages. A store can have twenty thousand, most of them generated automatically, many of them near duplicates of each other. Faceted navigation multiplies that further. The result is that Google spends its crawl budget on pages that will never earn a sale while your best category pages go unnoticed, a problem no amount of content writing will fix on its own.
On top of that, product pages compete against the manufacturer, against marketplaces and against every other retailer using the same supplied description. Winning means giving Google and the AI assistants a reason to prefer your version: better structure, real information, genuine reviews and category pages that answer the question behind the search.
Being found in the classic list of results. Site health, crawl budget, product and category pages, content and links.
Being the source quoted inside Google’s AI Overviews when someone asks what to buy or which store to use.
Being named when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini for a product or store recommendation.
AI search
How we get online stores named by AI assistants
When someone asks an assistant what to buy or where to buy it, the answer names a few options. Getting into that list depends on being readable, consistent and corroborated, not on how much you spend on ads.
Structured product markup with price, availability, condition and reviews, so machines can read your catalogue without guessing.
The buying question is usually answered at category level, not product level. That is where most stores leave the most on the table.
Controlling faceted navigation, pagination and duplicates so that crawlers reach the pages that matter.
Your own descriptions, specifications and photography rather than the supplier feed every competitor is also using.
Genuine reviews and mentions on sources the models already trust, because a claim made only on your own store carries little weight.
We monitor the buying questions customers ask assistants, and whether your store gets named in the reply.

Questions
Common questions about ecommerce SEO
Scale and duplication. Stores have thousands of auto generated pages, faceted navigation that multiplies them further, and product descriptions shared with every other retailer. The technical work of controlling what gets crawled and indexed matters far more than it does on a small site.
Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce can all rank well. The platform matters far less than how it is configured: URL structure, faceted navigation handling, page speed and whether you can control your own markup.
Not all at once. Start with the products and categories that already earn traffic or margin. Supplier copy duplicated across hundreds of retailers is a real disadvantage, but fixing the top of your catalogue first is usually where the return is.
Technical fixes can show up within weeks, sometimes dramatically if crawl issues were severe. Competitive category terms usually take three to six months to move meaningfully.
It depends on catalogue size and how much needs fixing. We publish our packages openly rather than making you sit through a sales call. You can see them on the SEO services page.
Nothing extra. AI search visibility is part of the ongoing Organic Growth + AI Search package, from A$1,299 a month, and the one off audit, from A$495, includes an AI search visibility check. The reason is practical: the technical health, content and authority that get you ranked in Google are the same things ChatGPT, Gemini and Google’s AI Overview look for before they name anyone, so splitting them into two bills would mean charging you twice for the same work. If you only want to know where you stand in AI answers today, the free visibility check covers that.
Usually yes, they do different jobs. Ads stop the moment you stop paying; organic and AI visibility keep working and tend to lower your blended cost per sale over time.
They send fewer clicks but very qualified ones, and they increasingly shape which brands a buyer considers before they ever search. Being absent from those answers is a slow, invisible loss.
The people you speak to. There is no account manager passing your questions to a team you never meet.
