Small business SEO in Sydney, across Google and AI search
A small business cannot outspend a national competitor, and does not need to. What it can do is be the clearest, best organised answer to the specific questions its customers ask, in Google, and now inside the AI assistants people use instead of searching. That is a fight small businesses can win, and it is the one we take on. Doing this since 2008.

Why it matters here
Why small businesses can still win in search
Big competitors spread themselves thin. They target everything, write for nobody in particular and rarely bother with the narrow, specific searches that convert. A small business that answers those questions properly, the ones about your suburb, your speciality, your price range, can rank above a company a hundred times its size on the terms that matter to it.
AI search has made that gap wider, not narrower. Assistants reward clarity and consistency over budget. A small site with clean structure, real reviews and pages that state plain answers is easier to quote than a bloated corporate site, and being quoted is what gets you named.
Being found in the classic list of results and the local map pack. Site health, structure, content and local signals.
Being the source quoted inside Google’s AI Overviews when someone asks for a recommendation.
Being named when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini who to use in your category.

How we get small businesses named by AI assistants
When someone asks an assistant who to use, the reply names two or three businesses. Size is not what decides that list. Readability, consistency and evidence are. Which is good news if you are small.
Pages that state the answer plainly near the top, so a model can lift a clean, quotable passage about what you do and for whom.
Your name, address, hours and services matching everywhere they appear. Mismatches are one of the most common reasons a small business gets skipped.
Schema markup that tells machines what you are, where you operate and what you offer, usually missing entirely on small sites.
Recent, specific reviews are read by both Google and the assistants as evidence. A handful of detailed ones beats a pile of one liners.
Narrow, honest positioning is an advantage with AI. “We do everything” gives a model nothing to recommend you for.
We monitor the questions your customers ask assistants, and whether you get named in the reply.

Questions
Common questions about small business SEO
Often, but not always. If your customers search for what you sell and you have a reasonable margin per customer, it usually pays for itself over time. If your category has almost no search volume, or you need enquiries this week, ads or other channels may be the better call, and we will tell you that rather than sell you a retainer.
It depends on how competitive your category is and how much needs fixing. We publish our packages openly rather than making you sit through a sales call. You can see them on the SEO services page.
Nothing extra. AI search visibility is part of the ongoing Organic Growth + AI Search package, from A$1,299 a month, and the one off audit, from A$495, includes an AI search visibility check. The reason is practical: the technical health, content and authority that get you ranked in Google are the same things ChatGPT, Gemini and Google’s AI Overview look for before they name anyone, so splitting them into two bills would mean charging you twice for the same work. If you only want to know where you stand in AI answers today, the free visibility check covers that.
Google Business Profile and technical fixes can shift things within weeks. Competitive terms usually take three to six months to move meaningfully, and keep compounding after that.
On the broad terms, usually not, and chasing them is how small budgets get wasted. On the specific searches that bring you customers, very often yes, and that is where we focus.
No. A small number of useful pages beats a stream of thin posts, and thin content can actively hurt you now that both Google and the AI assistants weigh quality over volume.
More than before. Assistants lean on sources that already perform well in search and that they can read cleanly, so the SEO foundations are what make you eligible to be named at all.
No. There is no minimum term and no contract to sign. The work runs month to month and you can stop with 30 days notice.
The people you speak to. There is no account manager passing your questions to a team you never meet, and no junior learning on your budget.
Still have a question? Ask and I will answer it directly.
